We start our tour with a drive to the medieval city of Stirling. Here there is an opportunity to visit Stirling Castle*. The castle overlooks the ancient city of Stirling and is one of the historic buildings that have come to symbolise the spirit of Scotland. Your visit will include the magnificent Great Hall, kitchens and the Renaissance splendor of the Royal Palace, the childhood home of Mary, Queen of Scots. Our extended stop in Stirling will allow a leisurely visit to the Castle or the chance to explore the City itself.

The Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park is a wonderful area of lochs and wild mountain vistas. We travel to Loch Venachar then climb the dramatic Dukes Pass. This is Rob Roy MacGregor country and there will be many tales to be told about this loveable rogue. Soon we are travelling through the heart of the magnificent Queen Elizabeth Forest Park and making our descent into the little village of Aberfoyle, where well stop for lunch.

The Queen of Scotland's lakes - Loch Lomond - is sure to put a song in your heart! Loch Lomond is the largest stretch of inland water in Britain.  We'll make a stop in the pretty village of Balmaha so you can enjoy a stroll along the "bonnie, bonnie banks".

Our next stop of the day is to pretty Glengoyne Malt Whisky Distillery*. As well as having a behind the scenes tour to learn all about the distillers art there will be a chance to taste the end product too! If whisky isnt your thing then why not take the opportunity to discover the stunning waterfall and secret garden that sits behind the distillery on Dumgoyne Hill.

Our last stop of the day is to see The Kelpies, two 30 metre-high horse head sculptures that have become an instant hit with both visitors and us Scots alike. Theyve been built alongside an extension which links the Forth and Clyde Canal to the North Sea. The Kelpies play homage to the working horses that used to pull the barges on this and other canals in Scotland.
