Full Tour Itinerary
It’s hard to describe Edinburgh without using superlatives. When we say it’s the most romantic, charming, historic, atmospheric and enjoyable city you’ll ever visit, we’re just describing one of the World’s best-loved cities in the very same words you’ll be posting on Facebook or tweeting about.
Put it another way, can you really pass up the chance to explore a city that millions of people can only dream of visiting?
Edinburgh is only a short 4.5-hour journey by comfortable train from the heart of London. The journey will take you through historic cities like York, Newcastle and Berwick-upon-Tweed right into the centre of Edinburgh.
Your tour will give you time to discover the mysteries of the Royal Mile, the romance of the Palace of Holyroodhouse, and to take a stroll along famous Princes Street.
This convenient package includes an open-top bus tour of Edinburgh that will introduce you to the main sights the city has to offer.
Tour through the grand squares and sweeping crescents of the Georgian New Town, then take a drive down the historic Royal Mile.
Head into the historic Grassmarket to hear stories of executions and murders.
Say hello to little Greyfriar’s Bobby and visit the Elephant Café, where JK Rowling wrote the Harry Potter books. You could even explore the nearby Churchyard to spot the gravestones whose names gave her the inspiration for some of her characters.
A real highlight is our included visit to Edinburgh Castle to see the much-admired Honours of Scotland, Scotland’s Crown Jewels and the Stone of Scone on which the ancient Scottish Kings were crowned.
The views from the castle ramparts over the city are simply stunning!
Later there is time for shopping or enjoying a wee nip of whisky in one of Edinburgh’s Historic bars.
Later, head back to Waverley Station to catch the train southwards to London. On-board you will find a convenient buffet car serving tasty snacks, sandwiches and drinks.

Everything was arranged nicely, however it would be nice if you let me indicate on the seats preference on the train..as a single rider, my seat was not as comfortable for this 4-hour ride each way for my pleasure unfortunately I guess that’s the only concern I have. I do understand that seat choices might not be met but at least give me a chance to indicate tho Everything else went well n I fell in love with Edinburg the min I got off the train... Thanks
