Full Tour Itinerary
Highland Games have been part of Scottish culture for centuries. Some believe their roots can be traced as far back as the 11th Century.
In the modern format that we know today, Highland Games have been celebrated since the 1800s. They are a rare chance for the residents of remote and hard-working rural communities to meet new people and socialise. Above all, they celebrate the skill, strength and endurance of the Highlander.
At today's Highland Games, you'll experience the memorable sights and sounds of the massed pipe bands, where hundreds of pipers come together to play in unison. There will also be solo competitions where the piper's ability is tested in a range of skills.
Elsewhere at the Games, you'll marvel at energetic dancing displays which attract experienced competitors from throughout Scotland and beyond!
In the main ring watch, as the heavyweights compete in events including tossing the caber, the shot put and throwing the hammer.
A popular event with spectators is the traditional "tug o'war", which pits two teams against each other in a test of strength.
You'll find this tour to be a truly memorable day out amongst grand Highland scenery.

I did enjoy the day but the main reason I think most people want to go to the games is for the strong man event and the time we had to go back to the coach was not even half way through the men’s event so I missed out on the caber toss and hammer throw which for men was the reason I came here.
