Full Tour Itinerary
Our journey around Scotland’s most celebrated stretch of water begins beside the Caledonian Canal before we arrive opposite the imposing Urquhart Castle, guardian of The Great Glen for over 700 years. Take a boat across and your footsteps will soon echo with centuries of history.
As we travel along the banks of the loch keep a careful watch as we are told the legend of Nessie, The Loch Ness Monster.
Hugging the banks of the loch, we skirt the shoreline before arriving at Invermoriston, where a short walk reveals the splendour of a tumbling waterfall spanned by Thomas Telford’s bridge.
Turning south, Fort Augustus is our next port of call, where you can admire a steady stream of craft leaving the canal to cruise the loch’s mysterious depths. Here too, we leave the usual route, touring leisurely along the quieter rural roads to gain a true taste of the Highlands.
Our destination is Foyers, a picturesque village nestling at the heart of Highland forest. Hidden among the pines are red squirrels and the majestic Falls of Foyers, which so inspired their most famous visitor, Robert Burns.
Inspiration can also be found in our final stop, which sees us snaking to the east side of the loch to arrive at Dores. From here, breathtaking views of the valley and water below provide the perfect souvenir of our Highland adventure.
