Full Tour Itinerary
Leaving Glasgow behind, we head north to rural Perthshire and our first stop – the 600-year-old Tullibardine Distillery. Here, we learn the royal history of this venerable family-owned institution and sample four divine single malts, each one expertly accompanied by an equally delicious chocolate truffle.
From here, it’s a short hop to the charming town of Dunblane for lunch. Well known as the birthplace of tennis star Andy Murray, you’ll have time to explore its ancient streets at your leisure and admire its beautiful 13th century cathedral.
Our search for the perfect dram continues in the afternoon, as we make our way west to Deanston Distillery on the banks of the River Teith. For 180 years, this imposing building was alive with cotton spinners, but now it crafts Highland malt the traditional way. No visit is complete without a taste, so you’ll enjoy a golden drop or two, along with some refreshments in the cosy café.
Our final destination depends on Scotland’s famously unpredictable weather. Our first option is Doune Castle – now famous thanks to Game of Thrones and Outlander. Alternatively, we will pause awhile in the village of Balmaha, on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, before winding our way home.
